Preprosthetic Orthopedics

Preprosthetic orthodontic treatment is for patients who require prosthetic dental work but lack either the space or proper positioning of their teeth to facilitate an ideal treatment result. These patients are usually referred to the orthodontist from a general, cosmetic, or prosthodontic dentist for correction of specific problems to assist in the overall prosthodontic plan.

Preprosthetic orthodontics can be either comprehensive or limited depending upon the patient’s desires to also correct other orthodontic problems in addition to the objectives specified by the referring dentist.
